Cloud backup and restore

You can back up your VIVE AI chats, including your questions and memos, to your iCloud or Google Drive™ storage and use these to restore your files. To back up your photos and videos, see Managing media.

Setting up cloud backup

The following steps are only for Android phone users. iPhone users with iCloud Drive only need to make sure that they are signed in to their account with syncing turned on.

  1. Sign in to your Google Drive account on your phone.
  2. Tap > Backup and restore.
  3. Select your Google® account from the dropdown list.
  4. Read the notice, and then tap Continue > Next.
    Tip:

    Android users have the option to back up their data only when their device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. To enable this setting, go to Advanced settings, and then turn on Back up using Wi-Fi.

Setting up automatic backup

  1. Launch VIVE Connect on your phone.
  2. Tap > Backup and restore.
  3. Tap Backup frequency, and then select an option.

Performing a manual backup

  1. Launch VIVE Connect on your phone.
  2. Tap > Backup and restore.
  3. Next to Manual backup, tap Back up now.

Restoring data from cloud backup

  1. Launch VIVE Connect on your phone.
  2. Tap > Backup and restore > Restore.
  3. Confirm the action by tapping Restore.

Deleting your backup data

  1. Launch VIVE Connect on your phone.
  2. Tap > Backup and restore > Delete backup.
  3. Confirm the action by tapping Delete.
