Setting up the base stations
Here's how to set up the base stations in your virtual production area.
-
Mount the base stations diagonally at opposite corners of the production area near power outlets.
Note:
If you're not able to mount the base stations using the mounting kit, you can attach them to tripods or place them on a stable surface, as long as it's high enough.
For details on using the mounting kit, visit VIVE Support.
-
Adjust the base stations so that the front panel of each base station is facing toward the center of the production area.
Important: Remember to peel the protective film off the front panel of each base station after setting them up.
-
Attach the power cables to the base stations.
Important: Only use the power cables and adapters included with the base stations.Depending on the hardware version of your base stations, the LED indicators will be white or green.
-
Connect the base stations to power one at a time, making sure to check the connection status on
Mars before plugging in the next one.
- Power on one base station by connecting it to a power outlet.
-
Check the
Mars dashboard to confirm that the base station is recognized by
Mars.
See Mars to learn more about the Mars dashboard.
Note: If the base station status icon doesn't turn blue, use the channel changing pin to gently press the channel button on the back of the base station:The corresponding base station status icon on the Mars dashboard should turn blue about 10-15 seconds after the base station channel changes.
- Repeat steps 4a and 4b for the remaining base station(s).
