Setting up VIVE Pro 2 for the first time
Before using VIVE Pro 2, you’ll need to complete the setup process, which includes installing VIVE™ and SteamVR software, setting up the hardware, and defining your play area.
Make sure to use VIVE Link Box (2.0) and VIVE Headset Cable (2.0) included with VIVE Pro 2.
- Download the setup file on your computer from www.vive.com/setup. Run the setup file.
Follow the walkthrough to install the software and set up your hardware.
When you see the hardware setup screen, follow the onscreen instructions to set up your base stations, headset, and controllers. You can also see the topics below to learn how to set them up:
- Depending on the type of base stations you're using, see Installing SteamVR Base Station 2.0 or Installing Base Station 1.0.

After you install everything, use the SteamVR app to check that your VR equipment—including the base stations, headset, and controllers—is tracked.
Use SteamVR to change your play area. You might need to do this if you adjust the base stations or move your system to a different room.
