Connecting your headset to your computer using a cable

Before starting a wired VIVE Streaming or VIVE Desk session, you need to pair your headset with your computer.
Important:
  • Make sure your cable, computer, and headset have been prepared before connecting your headset to the computer.
  • DisplayPort mode using the VIVE Wired Streaming Kit is only supported on VIVE Focus Vision.

  1. Make sure the VIVE Hub service you want to use is installed and running on your computer, and that your headset is on.
  2. Connect the headset to your computer. For instructions, see the following topics:
    Note:
    If the headset is not recognized by the computer (the USB icon in the VIVE Hub is gray), see My computer doesn't recognize the headset and the USB icon on VIVE Hub is gray. What can I do?.
  3. Put on your headset.
  4. In Choose USB mode, select Take no action the first time you stream. When streaming in the future, select VIVE Streaming or VIVE Streaming (DP mode).
    Note: VIVE Streaming (DP mode) only appears when VIVE Focus Vision is connected to the computer using the VIVE Wired Streaming Kit.
  5. Go to Settings > Connectivity > Computer connection.
  6. Select your computer.
    Tip: Select Set "PC VR apps" as the default Library filter if you primarily use your headset to stream PC VR titles.
